Review Policies and Information

I am happy to accept products for review on this blog. Please contact me at abrunettebiblio@gmail.com if you are interested in collaborating with me!

Product Review Policies:

I love to review almost any type of product for my blog! At this time, the only products I will not accept for review are products relating to children (as I don't have any!) and products that are sexual in nature. When offering a product for review, please provide me with the following information:
  • Name of Product and Purpose of Product
  • Product's Retail Price and Where to Purchase
  • Product Ingredients (if applicable)
  • When you would like the review posted
  • Any additional detail you feel will be helpful in my review

Products will not be rated on a star system, rather I will give detail regarding what I liked about it, what I didn't like about it, then a summary of my overall thoughts on the product. I will also include at least one (usually more) image of the product.

Please allow me one month after receipt to review before your preferred deadline (if you have one). Product reviews will be shared on this blog, as well as on my various social media platforms.

All products provided for a review will include a disclaimer, and all reviews will be 100% honest. I will not give a positive review to a product I did not like, no matter what. If I do give a negative review, I will be sure to explain why in detail.

Book Review Policies:

I am open to almost any genre, with the exception of religious or romance/erotica titles, and I am not accepting any self-published works. I do prefer literary fiction, women's fiction, sci-fi and fantasy, and thriller/mystery novels. I will read both adult and YA titles, but am slowly leaning more towards adult. I have previously received titles for review from a variety of publishers, including St. Martin's Press, Sourcebooks Fire, Bloomsbury, Random House Children's Books, and more.

When offering a title for review, please provide me with the following information:
  • Title and Author
  • Publisher and Publication Date
  • Genre
  • Brief Synopsis
  • When you would like a review posted (if you have a preference)
At this time I am currently accepting physical ARCs or finished copies only. I will either keep physical copies or pass them along to friends once finished and reviewed.

Please allow me one month after receipt to review before your preferred deadline (if you have one). I will post my review here on my blog and social media platforms, in addition to on Amazon and Goodreads. If you would like me to post anywhere else please add that in your communication!

All books provided for a review will include a disclaimer, and all reviews will be 100% honest. I will not give a positive review to a book I did not like, no matter what. If I do give a negative review, I will be sure to explain why in detail.

Book Rating System

5 Stars: This book was phenomenal. I couldn't put it down and I loved every bit of it, from the characters to the plot to the writing. Would definitely reread and would recommend to anyone. AKA this book deserves maid of honor title at my wedding.

4 Stars: I really enjoyed this book, but I didn't quite bond with it like a 5 star read. It could be that the character development was lacking or I found holes in the plot. Regardless, this was a pretty good read. AKA this book would still 100% be in the wedding party.

3 Stars: I'm glad I gave it a chance but probably would not read it again. This had major elements that rubbed me the wrong way but decent parts too. It was just okay, and this is a very middle of the road rating. AKA this book would get invited to my wedding but would not be in the wedding party itself.

2 Stars: While I wasn't a fan, I could see why people would be, and there was still a small redeeming element about it that I enjoyed (whether that be a unique story line, a character I couldn't help but love, or pretty decent writing). AKA this would be an acquaintance who I would tell was not invited to the wedding due to "space limitations."

1 Star: This book was terrible. I found no redeeming qualities in it (the cover art doesn't count here) and odds are I couldn't even finish it. If I did finish it, I probably hated it the whole way through. AKA I wouldn't even tell this person I was getting married.
